Kasia Stachyra at POCTEFA (Spain-France-Andorra)

Find out about the experience of a Polish volunteer discovering French-Spanish-Andorran cooperation in the Joint Secretariat of POCTEFA.

date:  27/06/2018

For the last few months, Kasia has been working as an IVY volunteer in the POCTEFA Joint Secretariat (Spain) which manages the projects implemented within the Interreg program. It´s a perfect example of successful cross-border cooperation between three countries. The projects vary – they may be related to climate change, sustainable use of natural resources, raising employment opportunities or starting a rail connection between two regions.

As she says: “This experience not only made me realize how many initiatives there are to improve the quality of life of EU citizens and how important cooperation is at a local level within the spirit of solidarity. It also inspired me to continue with my career in this direction. I could see both the theoretical side of project management as well as its tangible results during our study visits. It really works!”

Going back to Poland soon, Kasia will definitely spread the word about what she learnt and will encourage others to engage in this wonderful opportunity.
