European Week of Regions and Cities

Regions’ week is an annual conference dedicated to cohesion policy held in Brussels, with the aim of addressing challenges for European cities and regions. This year, EU-funded projects managed by the European Research Executive Agency will join the event’s four-day agenda, bringing together researchers and specialists from various areas of expertise.

High-level Mission to Japan

EU Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski will visit Japan from 2 to 6 July 2023, accompanied by a business delegation of senior representatives from the EU agri-food sector. This high-level mission will promote Europe’s high-quality food standards, explore various possibilities and requirements for doing business in Japan. It will include informative seminars on the characteristics of the local market and consumer trends, retail and site visits as well as networking opportunities. Interested companies can register until 31 January 2023.

 
Brokerage Event

The Brokerage Event will be held on 28 June, also online and in the Marriott Hotel Grand Place in Brussels. Attend for the chance to network with other partners looking to apply for EU security research under these calls for proposals.

How Research Infrastructures Provide New Opportunities and Benefits for Society

The Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU is organising an event on how open research data can potentially solve societal challenges, with a focus on the specific role research infrastructures can play. The event will take place on 19 – 20 June 2023 in Lund, Sweden. It will also include study visits to the MAX IV Laboratory and the European Spallation Source.

 
EU Green Week. Delivering a net-zero world

In the frame of the EU Green Week (3-11 June) the EU-funded project VitiGEOSS will organise a webinar: ‘Vineyard monitoring with remote sensing data for sustainable practices in agriculture’. The project will present how data on phenology, evapotranspiration and biomass production can help prioritise decisions, discover invisible issues and support greener agriculture. Register online.

 
NetworkNature Annual event: maximising the impact of nature-based solutions

On 8 June the EU-funded project NetworkNature will be hosting its annual event: Enabling transformation through and for nature-based solutions, at the Flagey building in Brussels, Belgium. Through interviews, presentations, panel debates and interactive sessions, discover how nature-based solutions can help different sectors and communities with their transformative potential. Registration is still open.

Webinar on Horizon Results Booster – Steering research towards a strong societal impact

The Horizon Results Booster is a free-of-charge service provided by experts and covers several paths in Dissemination and Exploitation activities, notably Portfolio Dissemination and Exploitation, Business Plan Development, and Go to Market services. The info session will cover information about the services and include testimonials from those who have already benefited from the Horizon Results Booster. The webinar will take place remotely and there is no need to register.

 
EU Maritime Day: latest developments in the blue economy and the marine environment

The REA managed projects MISSION ATLANTIC, REALM, AquaVitae and ASTRAL will be at the conference presenting innovative results and touch on topics such as ecosystem assessments, algae cultivation and sustainable value chains for integrated aquaculture.
