The SOAR project is led by Enhancing Faith Institutions (EFI) who partner with Finn Church Aid and Architects Council of Europe. It aims to support the protection of places of worship of all faiths. There are seven pilot case studies in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, and the Netherlands. The network of the partnership is extensive and includes representatives from all majority and minority faiths practicing within the EU.

The project will provide access to trainings, guidance material and information on best practice in protective security. Targeted training in the seven pilot countries will focus on increasing the cooperation among security advisors and practitioners, religious leaders and religious communities, and public authorities, including the police. A key component of the project is to advance the protection of religious sites by implementing the security by design concept.

One of the key priorities of the project is to develop and build a network of faith institutions across Europe. Faith leaders and faith institutions are welcome to join!
