The EU Forum on the Protection of Public Spaces

The EU Forum on the Protection of Public Spaces has been set up in 2017 under the Action Plan on the protection of public spaces. The Forum is meant to be one of the toolbox at disposal of Member states for the exchange of best practices, lesson learnt and networking among them and it consists of two sub-groups.

The two sub-groups are:

  1. The Practitioners’ Forum, operational in nature aiming towards bringing together law enforcement practitioners and networks (such as ATLAS, AIRPOL, RAILPOL, HRSN, AQUAPOL etc..) to exchange expert knowledge regarding the protection of public spaces. The forum will meet the upcoming 6 December. (Invitations will be sent to the LEA and the National Contact Points). 

  2. The Operators Forum, aims to engage with private operators and fosters cooperation between public actors and private entities. Next meeting will take place on the 5 December.
