🏆 Celebrating D&I Champions: Winners of the European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Award 2025 Announced!

The fourth European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Award ceremony was held in Brussels on 29 April 2025. It celebrated local authorities making remarkable strides in fostering diversity and inclusion across Europe. The ceremony, combined with the sixth European Diversity Month opening event, brought together representatives from EU institutions, civil society organisations, local authorities, and businesses.

Here are the outstanding winners in each category:

🏙️ Cities above 50,000 inhabitants:
 
• Gold: Utrecht, Netherlands
• Silver: Bilbao, Spain
• Bronze: Kraków, Poland
 
🏙️ Cities under 50,000 inhabitants:
 
• Gold: Mariehamn, Finland
• Silver: Usurbil, Spain
• Bronze: Settimo Torinese, Italy
 
🏡  Special Award in Inclusive Housing:
 
• Gold: Braga, Portugal
• Silver: Gualdo Tadino, Italy
• Bronze: Zaragoza, Spain
 
🙌 Public Award:
 
• Zaragoza, Spain

This year’s ceremony featured a lively twist—the public vote award, giving everyone a chance to make their voice count! Attendees, both online and in person, had just ten minutes to vote live for their favourites across the three main categories: cities over 50,000 inhabitants, cities under 50,000 inhabitants, and the inclusive housing award. It was a fast-paced and exciting moment that added energy, engagement, and real-time impact to the celebration.
