Youth Dialogue in Dublin

On 10 March, Commissioner McGrath held his first Youth Policy Dialogue in Dublin, focusing on democratic empowerment. The 30 young participants, including two of our young members of the EU Children’s Participation Platform, discussed ways to enhance participation in democracy, contributing to the upcoming Democracy Shield initiative. For a glimpse into the young voices of Ireland, read news from the members of the EU Children’s Participation Platform.

More information in the different Youth Policy Dialogues held: First round of Youth Policy Dialogues completed - European Commission

The first round of Youth Policy Dialogues has been completed.

Youth Policy Dialogues allow young people to engage directly with European Commissioners and share their views on EU policy initiatives. President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called on the Commissioners to hold these dialogues within the first 100 days of the new mandate.

From Dublin to Warsaw, the Youth Policy Dialogues were organised all over Europe:

  • 26 Commissioners held discussions
  • more than 400 young people shared their ideas and concerns
  • they discussed different pressing issues, from climate change and agricultural policy to youth employment and social inclusion.

The next step is to transform these insights into actionable policies that reflect young people’s needs.
