The 3rd FRA Survey on Jewish people’s experiences and perceptions of antisemitism published on 12 July 2024 shows that of 100 Jews in Europe only 4 have not been concerned by antisemitism. Although the survey was conducted before Oct. 7. Jewish people fear for their safety and security, and they encounter antisemitism on a continual basis, including online. Overall, this has a negative impact on their ability to live an openly Jewish life and has a chilling effect on their participation in society. The survey also points to some improvements, which can be attributed to EU policy and Member States actions. For example, while in 2018 almost 9 out of 10 Jews said that antisemitism was rising in their country, five years later there has been a decline, with 8 out of 10 reporting the same.
