Kaufland Romania and the Museum of Immersive New Art celebrated the inclusion of people with disabilities

For four months, Kaufland Romania, one of the Romanian Diversity Charter’s signatories, traveled through several cities in the country with the project "Caravana A.C.C.E.S.," alongside George Baltă, a former rugby player and current wheelchair marathoner, and director Tedy Necula, to promote the integration of people with disabilities into the labor market.

On May 16, Global Accessibility Awareness Day, and on the occasion of #EUDiversityMonth, the Caravan made its final stop in Bucharest. During a special event at MINA, the Museum of Immersive New Art, the company marked both the 5th anniversary of the A.C.C.E.S. program (Employment of Candidates with Special Requirements and Developments) and the launch of four sensory experiences dedicated to various disabilities. Each of the four immersive experiences offered participants the opportunity to experience and understand more about:

  • Dyslexia – a specific learning disorder, detailed through an experience created together with the Bucharest Association for Dyslexic Children;
  • Deafness and sign language, through an experience created in partnership with the National Association of the Deaf in Romania;
  • Blindness, with the help of an interactive sound experience developed together with the National Association of the Blind in Romania;
  • The challenges faced by people in wheelchairs in cities, presented both through a physical route and via VR technology, in an experience created in partnership with the Foundation Motivation Romania and the Help to Heart Association.
