Vice-President Schinas shows solidarity with the Jewish community ahead of the Munich Security Conference

Ahead of the Munich Security Conference, European Commission Vice-President for Promoting our European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas, joined the Jewish community in the Munich’s Ohel-Jakob Synagogue to show solidarity with Jews across Europe and worldwide during these times when antisemitism is alarmingly on the rise.

Vice-President Schinas also met with the families of Israeli hostages and listened to their personal stories. He expressed once again the support of the EU for the Jewish community in these difficult times and stated firmly that hate and antisemitism have no place in our European way of life and that nothing justifies terror. 
 
The meetings organised by the World Jewish Congress, lead by its CEO Maram Stern and Vice-President Charlotte Knobloch, brought together United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, US Special Envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism, Amb. Deborah Lipstadt, and Member of the German Bundestag, Tobias Lindner.
