Helena Dalli, European Commissioner for Equality, highlighted the importance of Diversity Charters as catalysts for change in the business environment:  “I encourage companies to continue working towards diversity and inclusion and to consider joining the national Diversity Charter. With actions aimed at creating safe and welcoming work spaces, where everyone has a place, which contributes to the well-being of employees and better business results.”

During the gala, 33 enterprises and organizations committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace, signing the Charter.

María Eugenia Girón, president of Fundación Diversidad, underlined: “Diversity, equality and respect and recognition of the human rights are fundamental values of the European Union. To move towards a Union of Equality where all people can live free of discrimination, Fundación Diversidad promotes the Diversity Charter in Spain. We will soon be 15 years old and in this time more than 1,650 entities in Spain have already adhered to the Diversity Charter. This is undoubtedly proof that the message of Diversity is becoming more and more important in our country, but we still have a long way to go to achieve effective inclusion, both at a social level and in the workplace.”
