Diversity Charter in Poland wraps up this year’s work and announces its upcoming initiatives

Diversity Charter Gala took place in Warsaw on 28th November 2023. Agenda consisted of experts talks and discussion panels dedicated to age management, DEI measuring and diversity in the creative industries. Organisers leveraged the event to announce open call for 2nd edition of the Diversity Charter Award and to release a report presenting maturity level in managing diversity and building inclusive workplace of the most-advanced employers in Poland.

The Diversity Charter’s Gala began with Tomasz Stawiszyński’s speech. The widely recognized philosopher, essayist and author of best selling literature, addressed the concept of rationality and obstacles on its way. Then, PhD Ewa Lisowska (Warsaw School of Economics) took over to sum up findings of all 3 editions of Diversity IN Check. Diversity IN Check is an annual survey to diagnose the maturity of companies/organisations in managing diversity and building inclusive organisations.

Followingly, creative sector professionals got together to debate over DEI in PR, marketing and media. Marzena Strzelczak, DEI Advisor to the Management Board in Responsible Business Forum, moderated the discussion on results of the pilot survey Diversity IN Check Creative.

The event made space for wrapping up the work of working group on 50+ people in the labour market. Participants were introduced to the topic by Natalia Tomkiewicz, leader of the GSK Poland Global Hub, with an inspiring and personal speech entitled "Diversity +". Followingly, Agata Malec, mainstream media journalist, talked with academics and renowned experts about demography, development programs for employees and media image of the 50+ workers.

What is more, throughout the Gala, Diversity IN Check no. 4 study and 2nd edition of Diversity Charter’s Award were announced. Concept of the latter is to reward companies, NGOs and institutions, based in Poland, which strive for social cohesion. There are 3 categories this year: DEI in municipalities, DEI in public sector and DEI in the private sector - the last one divided in 5 subcategories: partnership, corporate activism, children’s rights in business, corporate volunteering andinnovative approach.

Last but not least, new signatories of both the Diversity Charter in Poland and the Charter of Children’s Rights in Business, were officially welcomed. Aforementioned initiatives are coordinated by the Responsible Business Forum.
