The partnership of NICE – an EU-funded programme – attended the 5th Diversity in Business Conference in Athens, Greece, co-organised by KEAN and Diversity Charter Greece.

date:  12/12/2023

The partnership had the opportunity to participate in a dedicated panel discussion on ‘Neutral & Inclusive Language in Corporate Environments’, where they shared the results of their desk and field research in Lithuania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania on inclusive language and communication. The panelists were Marilena Stathopoulou, Iosif E., Lia Bertsiadou, Dana Oancea, Maria Stoyanova, Ani Ivanova, Aistė Brazdžiūnaitė and Eleni Ploutarchou.

The NICE programme (Neutral & Inclusive Communication in Corporate Environments) - a collaborative effort led by the Diversity Charters of Cyprus, Greece, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania - launched at the conference the publication of its comparative report on inclusive communication practices in the workplace. The Comparative Report on Inclusive Language can be found on the project’s website.

This report - meticulously crafted by the Bulgarian NICE partner, Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD), compiles the most recent breakthroughs and best practices on inclusive language and communication at the workplace through exhaustive comparative analysis, policy evaluations, surveys and interviews with D&I experts. The report illuminates the profound importance of neutral and inclusive communication within corporate settings. For a deeper understanding of the program, explore the NICE’s website and stay tuned for upcoming local activities and trainings.
