The talk of the town: short report on the Info session of the call CERV-2023-CITIZENS-CIV

The participation of citizens in the discussion of EU policies is crucial to guarantee that policies and decisions align with the needs and aspirations of the public. The Call for proposals to foster citizens’ engagement and participation (CERV-2023-CITIZENS-CIV) aims to tackle this very aspect by providing opportunities for citizens to engage in events, acquire knowledge about EU policies and interact with fellow citizens to discuss Union’s actions. An Info session about this call took place last month to disseminate and present the call and also to highlight the novelties of this year, among which a considerable budget increase from 17.4 to 25.4 million Euro.

The event served to reaffirm the critical role that funding plays in supporting EU civil society, especially in the face of current societal challenges. The growing interest in this call further reflects the need for the EU citizens and civil society to establish sustainable networks and information tools to bolster our democracies.

The CERV-2023-CITIZENS-CIV call is currently open with deadline 5 September 2023.
