Open Diversity Day: The art of being woman

A new initiative of Diversity Charter Greece has been put into action, gaining the interest of the Diversity Charter signatories. This is the Open Diversity Day, an action that focuses on positive storytelling, to give the optimistic message that everything can change and improve. On the occasion of International Women's Day, and with the participation of wonderful women, we presented the first Open Diversity Day: The Art of Being Woman. Specifically, they shared their own stories through their inspiring speeches:

  • May Zanni, Political Analyst, Co-founder & President of Women Act
  • Maria Vathilaki, Human Resources Manager, Parfums Christian Dior Hellas
  • Efrosyni Mastrokilias, Battler & Wine Specialist
  • Marilena Stathopoulou, Fashion Designer, Owner of MARILENA STATHOPOULOU clothing brand, Project manager
  • Nazia Matani - Journalist, Iranian Political and Women Activist

The event was accompanied by an art and music tribute to women. The Open Diversity Days are here to stay!

 

Presentation of the Diversity Charter for Greek Businesses in Larissa

With the participation of important representatives of the local community and many businesses in the Thessaly region, the informative event for the presentation of the Diversity Charter Greece took place on Monday, March 20, 2023, in Larissa. The aim of the event was to inform and create awareness for local businesses and organizations, beyond the major urban centers, on issues of diversity and inclusion. The city of Larissa, and the wider Thessaly region, was the starting point of the awareness-raising campaign, an initiative that will continue. The event was supported by the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE), the Region of Thessaly, with the Regional Governor of Thessaly, Mr. K. Agorastos, addressing the audience, the Municipality of Larissa, with Deputy Mayor Mr. D. Deligianni presenting the actions that have been taken, as well as the Larissa Chamber of Commerce, which also signed the Diversity Charter. Many businesses also participated in the event, several of which also signed the Charter.

The Diversity Charter Greece was signed by the Athens News Agency /Macedonian Press Agency (ANA-MPA), on the sidelines of the Balkan-SE Europe News Agencies Association (ABNA-SE) meeting, currently presided over by ANA-MPA. More specifically, the Diversity Charter was signed immediately after the general assembly of ABNA-SE, which concluded the meeting in Thessaloniki, by the President and General Director of ANA-MPA, Emilios Perdikaris, and the President of the Board of Directors of KEAN and Founder of Diversity Charter Greece, Stavros Milionis. It should be noted that ABNA-SE currently has 12 members, as in addition to the 11 founding members [ANA-MPA, Anadolu Agency (Turkey), Agerpres (Romania), ATA (Albania), BTA (Bulgaria), FENA (Bosnia-Herzegovina), HINA (Croatia), CNA (Cyprus), KOSOVAPRESS (Kosovo), MIA (North Macedonia), MINA (Montenegro)], one more has been added, the Italian news agency ANSA, with the agreement of all members.
