Diverse and Active: Promoting Diversity and Non-Discrimination in the Workplace

The project Diverse and Active: Promoting Diversity and Non-Discrimination in the Workplace aims to develop a set of transformative tools and instruments for promoting diversity and tolerance, as well as fighting discrimination in the workplace, mainly focusing on human resources professionals and labor inclusion professionals. This project is being developed in partnership with the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN-Portugal), the European Intercultural Club and Likestillinggsenteret KUN - Centre for Equality and Diversity.

date:  28/03/2023

One of the tools we developed is a free, asynchronous e-learning training that aims to enable HR and employability professionals to train on Diversity and Inclusion, Unconscious Biases, Inclusive Recruitment and Inclusive Itinerary. The training is available to everyone, and includes theoretical content, activities to be implemented, and summative assessments of knowledge, with an estimated maximum duration of 4h (see the image on the right for an example of the contents of this e-learning training).

Complementarily to this training, we provide online group sessions that aim to clarify doubts that may have arisen while undertaking the training. At this point we have conducted two sessions and assisted organizations with the practical specificities of implementing Diversity and Inclusion policies in different workplaces, among other topics.

Another recent output of this project that works as a tool to disseminate the importance of working Diversity & Inclusion is the Diverse and Active campaign, composed of different testimonies of Diversity and Inclusion multipliers, addressing topics such as the integration of people with disabilities, migrants, and neuro-diverse people in organizations.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the benefits of implementing Diversity and Inclusion policies and practices in the workplace, demystifying existing biased perceptions. We have collected testimonies from HR and employability professionals who have facilitated the integration of people with different characteristics of Diversity in their teams or other organizations, as well as from those who have been integrated in these teams, reflecting both perspectives on the process (see the images above for an example of the testimonies collected).

We invite you to see all these videos at APPDI’s Youtube channel, available with English subtitles, and welcome their sharing across your networks!
