In line with the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, this priority supports projects on developing networks of Young European Ambassadors to promote Holocaust remembrance. Young Europeans should learn how to access and share accurate information about the Holocaust and should be empowered to act both online and offline.
Moreover, organised opposition and resistance from within society played a key role in fighting foreign occupation and/or overthrowing totalitarian and authoritarian regimes. During the Holocaust many Jewish and non-Jewish groups resisted and fought against the Nazis. It remains crucial to remember and educate about these groups and individuals as examples to defend their rights for today and the future.
Projects can also focus on countering Holocaust distortion, trivialization and denial as well as digitalising historical material and testimonies of witnesses for education and training purposes. These projects are encouraged to work as well with young people, together with other generations, in order to transmit the memory of events.
Project proposals:
- Must be submitted by a consortium (2 or more organisations)
- Must be based on lump-sum funding (only events are the basis for EU contribution calculation, see the call on the funding & tender portal)
- Must request a minimum EU funding of EUR 50,000
- Can be national or transnational
In 2022, the European Commission financed 33 projects out of 142 applications with a total amount of EUR 8 million. Find out more about the specific projects we support here: Funding & tenders (europa.eu) (bottom of the page).
Deadline: 06/06/2023
