INFO session on 2023 EU project funding on combating hate speech and hate crime

INFO session on 2023 EU project funding CERV-2023-CHAR-LITI-SPEECH

date:  27/01/2023

The Commission has adopted and published on 1st December 2022 the Implementing Decision on the financing of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme and the adoption of the work programme for 2023-2024, here is the direct link to the document c_2022_8588_1_en_annexe_acte_autonome_cp_part1_v2.pdf (europa.eu) on the CERV website. A major novelty in the Commission’s work programme is that there is a standalone dedicated priority under the Union values strand of the programme on projects which aim to combat hate speech (including online) and hate crime. We are convinced this is an important step that shows the Commission’s commitment to invest on robust responses to hate speech and hate crime in the EU. We count on receiving innovative and impactful projects. We are also pleased to announce that on 15 December 2022 the call document was published at this direct link call-fiche_cerv-2023-char-liti_en.pdf (europa.eu), and here is the link to the call TOPIC ID: CERV-2023-CHAR-LITI-SPEECH, Protecting EU values and rights by combating hate speech and hate crime on the Funding & tender opportunities portal.

With a view to present the objectives of the new priority and expected outputs, the Commission is organising an online information session on Friday 27 Jan 2023 from 9:30 to 12:30, via WebEx. You are cordially invited to attend. The connecting link will be sent nearer the date, following your registration. Commission representatives dealing with the financial and policy aspects will host this session which is planned to be also an opportunity for exchange and for you to ask relevant questions.
