JUSTICE AND CONSUMERS - Katharina von Schnurbein bestowed with Marietta and Friedrich Torberg Medal

10 November 2021 - Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, was awarded the Marietta and Friedrich Torberg Medal of the Jewish Community of Vienna (IKG Wien) for her 'extraordinary commitment against antisemitism and for Jewish life in Europe'.

The laudatio for the award ceremony was given by Karoline Edtstadler, Austrian Federal Minister for the EU and the Constitution, who recognised in particular Ms. von Schnurbein's role in the 2018 Council Declaration on combating antisemitism during the Austrian EU Presidency and her determination to take a stand against antisemitism and for democratic values in Europe.
