10 December 2020 - The European Commission joined the yearly Euro-Chanukah celebration that was broadcasted live from the studio and from Rond-Point Schuman, from where the Mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, lightened a candle in the 5 metres high Euro-candelabra. Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, joined the European Jewish Community Center to reflect on the lessons that could be learnt from this Festival of light in regards to interfaith and social relations and on how the EU supports its citizens in all their cultural diversity.
