JUSTICE AND CONSUMERS - Dutch Diversity Day: October 1st 2019

On October 1st 2019, The Netherlands celebrated its first Diversity Day under the slogan ‘being yourself works’. Diversity at Work launched the event in cooperation with twelve big companies and organisations. Almost 150 Companies organized their own activity to call attention to diversity and inclusion to ultimately create a society in which we appreciate everyone’s unique talents and potential.

A few examples of activities that took place are a WCMX event (BMX with wheelchairs), intercultural lunches and unconscious bias workshops. Companies were also very active on social media. Over a million people have reached on Twitter. On the first of October the #diversityday was trending. Together with linked-in and Instagram our range was even greater.

Conclusively, Diversity Day stimulated a dialogue about the many benefits of diversity and inclusion in the work place. We are very pleased with the results and are already looking forward to the next Diversity Day on 2 October 2020.
