6th Polish Diversity Day: Courage and balance

Over 200 guests and several experts and experts have taken up the subject of courage in striving for a balance between work and personal life during the biggest annual event implemented under the Diversity Charter in Poland. On the occasion of the 6th Polish Diversity Day, the replica of the famous New York Fearless Girl sculpture visited Poland for the first time. The main partner of the event was the Polish branch of State Street Bank and the partner was Siemens Polska.

The Polish Diversity Day organized by the Responsible Business Forum every year, gathers diversity management experts acting for the benefit of people at risk of exclusion, discrimination. Among the guests and participants are representatives of business, administration, NGOs and science who meet to exchange experiences, good practices and inspiration for further action.

The 6th Polish Diversity Day began with video speech by Irena Moozova, Director at the European Commission for Equality and Union Citizenship in its department for Justice (DG JUST). The event took place under the slogan "Courage and balance". The conference was an opportunity to discuss the possibilities and challenges that companies face in the field of diversity management in the era of work-life integration and the ongoing socio-demographic changes. Participants of the meeting took up the subject of forms of support by employers of women who want to combine ambitious career goals with a work-life balance. There was also a discussion about the impact of new technologies development on maintaining the boundary between work and privacy.

During the conference, the results of the latest research on diversity management in Poland, conducted by the Responsible Business Forum in cooperation with the partners, the Institute of Organization and Management in Industry "ORGMASZ" nad PBS research agency, were also presented.

The research was carried out among the signatories of the Diversity Charter and on the nationwide sample. The first group consisted mainly of medium and large companies that employ more than 50 employees (82% of respondents), and the nationwide sample reflected the structure of the population in which medium and large companies account for 17% of respondents. It is worth knowing the most common activities undertaken by employers in Poland. Both among the Diversity Charter signatories and in the nationwide sample, they concern: gender equality (96% vs. 62%), as well as disability (80% vs. 52%) and the age of employees - both young and older (78% vs 55% respectively, and 84% vs. 53%). Fearless Girl for the first time in Poland

On the occasion of the 6th National Diversity Day, thanks to the efforts of State Street Bank - the main event partner - Poland visited for the first time a replica of the famous New York Fearless Girl sculpture, which symbolizes the need of women's presence on company boards, as well as appropriate gender representation at all levels of organization.
