The good practice exchange seminars, co-organised with the European Commission, have been the main tool used by the High Level Group in order to carry out its tasks.  Government officials and experts from EU countries participate in these seminars to learn about a particular policy measure of the host country and to discuss its transferability.  On 29/30 September 2016, the Commission organized a Good Practices Exchange seminar in Berlin on "Legislation and policies on gender identity and sex characteristics" bringing together government officials and experts from 19 Member States and for which the synthesis report is now available:
