17 March 2022 - The Council of Europe adopted the 'Recommendation on passing on remembrance of the Holocaust and preventing crimes against humanity' addressed to the governments of its 46 member states. The text represents a comprehensive and up-to-date guidance on how to ensure remembrance of the Holocaust at a time when there are fewer and fewer survivors to bear direct witness.
Combating antisemitism
16 March 2022 - Vice-President for Values and Transparency, Věra Jourová, met with Jewish students from across and beyond Europe as part of the EU Activism Seminar and discussed the fight against antisemitism and the efforts EU does in order to ensure a safer and more inclusive society for students, both online and offline.
10 March 2022 - Equinet brought together equality body staff, representatives of EU institutions and national authorities, and (Jewish) civil society organisations and communities in a workshop that aimed to encourage them to discuss, share best practices and find best solutions to tackle antisemitism.
2 March 2022 - At an informative session organised by Women's International Zionist Organisation (WIZO) of Austria and Germany, Katharina von Schnurbein presented the work of the EU in the fight against antisemitism and the promotion of Jewish life in Europe. The presentation was followed by an open discussion with the participants.
The Council of the European Union adopted on Friday, 4 March 2022, the Conclusions on combating racism and antisemitism which endorse the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life and invite Member States to develop national action plans and/or strategies, and endeavor to do so by the end of 2022.
1 March 2022 - Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, met with Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, in Brussels to discuss the current challenges, in particular with regards to antisemitic hate speech, conspiracy myths and disinformation online and the need for education about Jewish life and antisemitism.

1 March 2022 - The European Parliament Delegation for relations with Israel together with members of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs dedicated a session to an exchange of views on the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life.
20 January 2022 - To address the rise of antisemitism in Europe and the security threats it poses to the Jewish communities, the European Commission together with OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the World Jewish Congress are organising a series of events to build effective communication between National Security Institutions and Jewish communities.
7 February 2022 - The European Commission presented the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life during the first conference of the Polish OSCE Chairmanship that took place in the POLIN Museum and online.
10 February 2022 - European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, Katharina von Schnurbein, presented the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life during a debate on antisemitism organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

14 December 2021 - The General Affairs Council held a debate on combating antisemitism following the adoption by the Commission of the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life and the recently released report on antisemitic incidents recorded in the European Union (2010-2020) by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights.
The European Commission presented an initiative to extend the list of ‘EU crimes' to hate speech and hate crime, as announced by President von der Leyen in her 2020 State of the Union speech.
