We invite representatives of business, administration, NGOs and science to actively participate. We want to meet to celebrate diversity together, exchange experiences, good practices and inspiration for further action. This year's edition, under the slogan "Building Bridges for the Future Work," will focus on the challenges of gender equality and the experiences of migrant people. We will also touch on the topic of children's rights in business.
The inauguration of Diversity Month will take place on April 23 in Wroclaw at Concordia Design. The event will be opened by Minister for Equality Katarzyna Kotula. This will be followed by an inspirational speech by prof. Dariusz Doliński (SWPS University in Wrocław): "WE - how are we created and what comes of it?". Numerous psychological studies indicate that we react quite differently to people we think of in terms of WE than to people we think of in terms of THEY. These differences include such social behaviors that we categorize as positive (e.g., helping others, showing them compassion), as well as negative ones (such as aggression, or showing resentment). From this perspective, it is extremely important to answer the question of what the formation of thinking about others in terms of WE (vs. THEY) depends on, and how such thinking can be stimulated.
This will be followed by a panel discussion on the challenges, expectations and real opportunities for equality and inclusion. Moderated by Alina Szeptycka (Plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Wrocław for Equal Treatment), the debate will feature:
Karolina Andrian (Founder and President, Share The Care Foundation),
Bogna Czołczyńska (Plenipotentiary of the Marshal of Western Pomerania for Women and Equal Treatment),
Anna Strzałkowska (Expert of the Human Rights Cities Institute),
Karolina Zdrodowska (Plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Warsaw for equal treatment).
The inauguration program will also include time for the presentation of good practices implemented by signatories of the Diversity Charter and the announcement of the Winners of the 2nd edition of the Diversity Charter Award.
During the Diversity Month Closing Event, which will take place on May 21 in Warsaw at Sokolnicki Fort, we will summarize the 4th edition of the Diversity IN Check survey (a tool for diagnosing the level of maturity of organizations in the area of diversity management) and we will announce the List of Employers Most Advanced in Diversity Management and Inclusion in Poland 2023.
