As you may know, last week I replaced Tom as acting Head of Unit and I had the opportunity to participate in the first meeting with our new Director Matthias Oel.

Our DROUGHTS team celebrated Alfred’s 60th anniversary! Following the discussions with DG ENV and the European Drought Observatory for Resilience and Adaptation (EDORA) partners, the EDORA event at the European Parliament started taking shape. And together with our new visiting scientist Sara, we started discussing new approaches to use complex network tools to detect dependencies in severe-to-extreme drought events. |
This week I’ll be in Athens to discuss the establishment of the Greek national Drought Observatory within the EDORA project.
