The Strategy has four principle objectives: to make climate adaptation smarter, swifter and more systemic, and to step up international action on adaptation to climate change.

The Strategy promotes the DRMKC Risk Data Hub to harmonize the collection of data. The DRMKC will work with DG CLIMA on the standardization and harmonization of damage  and loss data. The Copernicus service and PESETA project conclusions and approaches are also integrated in the new Strategy
