Explore the COP17 Programmes of the EU B&B Platform's key partners
Date: 24/09/2026
COP17 will bring together a packed programme of events, discussions and announcements from across the biodiversity community. To help navigate the agenda, we've selected a number of sessions and activities led by key partners of the European Business & Biodiversity Platform. These organisations are helping to drive business and finance action for nature, and their events offer valuable opportunities to explore some of the most important topics on the COP17 agenda.
Business & Biodiversity Sweden: Myllium, the international collective that Ecogain and Business & Biodiversity Sweden are part of, will host two sessions at COP17 on how businesses bring nature into decision-making and investment. Nature on the Balance Sheet will explore the business case for investing in nature, with companies sharing their own experience. From Metric to Market will examine how credible measurement makes nature investable, setting Sweden's voluntary CLIMB Biodiversity Metric alongside England's mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain. The sessions will run in the Nordic Pavilion programme, together with Business Sweden and the Team Sweden delegation.
World Business Council for Sustainable Development: WBCSD will deliver sessions at COP17 showcasing business-led action, including its updated Nature Action Portal, a tool that helps businesses cut through a complex landscape of metrics and impactful actions to halt and reverse nature loss. The program touches on the measurement gap and implications for business, and the business case for Nature-based Solutions. Learn more on the WBCSD COP17 website.
Business for Nature: Business for Nature, in collaboration with key partners, will bring to COP17 a strong and credible delegation of leading businesses to carry the business narrative, policy asks and demonstrate credible business action. In addition, Business for Nature will host events addressing their 2030 priorities: Fiscal and financial incentives, GBF implementation, It's Now for Nature campaign. Find more information here.
Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures: TNFD will host a two-day programme in Yerevan on 23-24 October, with sessions focusing on three main themes: moving towards Target 15 implementation through progress on corporate nature-related assessment and reporting, mobilizing investment into nature resilience, and innovating solutions for nature and with nature. Register your interest in attending TNFD events here.
Nature Positive Initiative: The NPI will host the Nature Positive Pavilion, a convening space for partners and the wider nature-positive community, with the objective of acclerating business engagement to help halt and reverse nature loss. The main topics that will be discussed include metrics and common approaches to accelerating GBF implementation, building on the outcomes of the 2nd Global Nature Positive Summit Kumamoto declaration. Find more information here.
Netherlands Pavilion: As part of its broader programme, the Netherlands Pavilion will host a Nature Finance Programme, organised together with a wide range of partners, including several sessions in collaboration with the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation. The programme will bring together governments, financial institutions and other partners to discuss how finance can help accelerate implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework. Sessions will cover, among other topics, mobilising private finance for nature, NBFP development, creating and scaling positive incentives, implementation of Target 18, public-private approaches to financing nature, and moving from financial-sector commitments to concrete action. The wider Pavilion programme will bring together a broad range of international partners and perspectives on implementing the Global Biodiversity Framework, including sessions on the nature-food-climate-nexus, monitoring, nature-based solutions and mainstreaming biodiversity.
Finance for Biodiversity Foundation:
The Finance Area at CBD COP17: The Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation will host a Finance Area, in partnership with FAIRR, in the Blue Zone of CBD COP17 in Yerevan, Armenia. It will bring together financial institutions, policymakers, NGOs, and other key stakeholders to engage, collaborate, and accelerate action on nature. It will provide a dedicated space to exchange ideas on guiding the alignment of financial flows with the goals and targets of the Global Biodiversity Framework. See FfB's COP17 priorities and activities here.
A series of policy engagement opportunities are open for your support through the signature of statements on i) incentives reform, ii) nature-related disclosures, and iii) welcoming the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF). Upcoming pre-COP17 webinar: As part of the webinar series 'We need to talk about biodiversity', a collaboration between the FfB Foundation, UN PRI, UNEP FI and the EU Business and Biodiversity Platform, we will be hosting the webinar on "COP17 and the GBF Global Review: Priorities for the alignment of financial flows" on Wednesday, 7 Oct 2026, from 14:00 to 15:00 CET.
This webinar will present the latest thinking focusing on how the GBF Global Review and policymakers can further guide the alignment of financial flows, notably through a better understanding of the needs and priorities of the biodiversity finance sector. It will also feature key initiatives driving political and financial momentum ahead of COP17, calling for policy clarity and incentives reform to guide business and finance along nature-positive sectoral transition pathways in a whole-of-economy approach to nature.
Whether you are attending COP17 in person or following developments remotely, these events provide opportunities to engage with the latest thinking, connect with peers and explore practical approaches to advancing nature-positive action. We encourage you to explore the sessions, register where relevant, and join the conversation throughout COP17.
