The European Business & Biodiversity Platform heads to COP17
Date: 08/09/2026
Between the 18 and 30 of October 2026, the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) will bring together governments, policymakers, businesses, financial institutions and civil society organisations in Yerevan, Armenia, to take stock of progress and accelerate implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Global Biodiversity Framework, the international roadmap for halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030.
The European Business & Biodiversity Platform is pleased to announce that it will be participating in COP17 and will host a session at the Business and Finance Hub on 24 October between 10:00-10:45. The session, "Business and Biodiversity Initiatives: Scaling private sector action for transformative change", will explore how business and biodiversity platforms, networks and coalitions can help translate biodiversity commitments into practical action, support companies on their nature journeys, and contribute to the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework.
The session will bring together representatives from business and biodiversity initiatives operating at European, national and international levels to discuss how collaborative networks can accelerate biodiversity mainstreaming, build capacity, foster peer learning and support businesses and financial institutions in their biodiversity efforts.
The Platform is also working closely with a range of members and partners across the business, finance and biodiversity communities to support their COP17 activities. More information on partner-led events, initiatives and engagement opportunities around COP17 will be shared in a dedicated COP17 spotlight edition in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes out for that!
We also welcome information on other business and biodiversity events, discussions and engagement opportunities that may be relevant to the Platform and of interest to the wider community. Members and partners are encouraged to get in touch and share such activities with the Platform by emailing EUBB_Platform@icf.com.
We look forward to showcasing the many exciting activities taking place around COP17 and to connecting with members, partners and stakeholders in Yerevan. We hope to meet many of you there and continue the conversation on advancing business action for nature.
