In November 2024, ANI filed a lawsuit against OpenAI in the Delhi High Court, alleging that OpenAI's ChatGPT model utilised ANI's copyrighted content without permission for training purposes. OpenAI refutes these allegations, asserting that it employs publicly available data protected under fair use principles and does not specifically use content from Indian media groups for training ChatGPT.
