On 22 May 2025, the Brussels Economic Forum (BEF) returns for its 25th edition! This year’s BEF will focus on how to navigate a turbulent world to secure Europe’s economy. On 4 March, Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis met with young Europeans from all over EU to discuss topics what matters the most for youth, such as competitiveness, investment and sustainability; global order and economic security; digital euro; and implementation and simplification. During the Investors Office Hour, 10 deeptech startups from the InvestEU Portal received coaching from 10 experienced European investors. It was designed to help these startups fine-tune their business strategies, enhance their fundraising capabilities and expand their industry networks.

At SLUSH in Helsinki, the InvestEU team hosted a comprehensive programme, presenting the InvestEU programme, inviting two Portal startups to pitch to investors, and organizing a reverse pitching session with EU startup support organizations. We also delivered two short presentations at the EIC booth.

At the Web Summit in Lisbon, the InvestEU team showcased the InvestEU programme at a booth and delivered two 30-minute presentations at the EIC booth. Additionally, we facilitated investor meetings for three startups from the InvestEU Portal through inviting them to join us at the event.

During the EU Sustainable Finance days, the InvestEU team presented on 29 May in Vilnius the EU Sustainable Finance policies and instruments for financial institutions (including national promotional banks), business support structures, SMEs and other potential beneficiaries like universities, municipalities and households.

In spring the InvestEU Portal will partner up again with European Business Angels Network (EBAN) to organise the EBAN Annual Congress 2024! The event will gather start-ups and hundreds of early-stage investors from all over the world. Stay tuned for more information!

The European Business Angel Network (EBAN) organised with support of the InvestEU Portal and the Estonian Business Angel Network (EstBAN) the annual EBAN Congress from 20 – 22 May 2024 in Tallinn, Estonia. The EBAN Congress is known as one of the most influential conferences for business angels in Europe. During the event, many panel discussions, workshops and networking opportunities for actors from the European Startup ecosystem will take place. It was particularly interesting because Estonia is famous for being the “Unicorn Factory” of Europe with the 10 unicorn companies.

The EU Sustainable Finance Days 2024 were organised by the European Commission and its main partners for financing EU industry. The EU Sustainable Finance policies and instruments were explained to interested stakeholders on-site in Madrid on 10 April.

The InvestEU Portal and Euroquity co-organised an Office Hour on 27 March where 10 startups working in the climate tech area were selected to have one-on-one coaching with European investors. The invited investors are also active in investing in climate tech and gave tips to the startups on how they could improve their pitch decks.
