On 12 March, the European Commission disbursed €21.2 million in grants to Cyprus as the fifth payment under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). The Facility is the centrepiece of NextGenerationEU – the Commission's post-pandemic programme to support Member States' recovery, economic growth, and competitiveness. Measures linked to this payment include reforms and investments in the areas of public administration, justice, transport, tourism, education, healthcare, and energy efficiency renovations. On 1 August 2025, Cyprus submitted to the Commission its fifth request for a total payment of €70.5 million under the RRF. This request includes 19 milestones and targets covering 8 reforms and 11 investments.

On 18 March 2021, DG ECFIN held an online public event to mark the launch of the InvestEU Programme, adopted by the European Parliament on 09 March 2021. The event, which attracted over 1000 stakeholders from across Europe, featured a keynote address and Q&A session with EU Commissioner for the Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, as well as speakers from DG ECFIN's Directorate L, and InvestEU potential implementing partners.
The EIPP team was invited to the 2020 virtual edition of the European Space Week and joined the panel discussion on “EU Space Programme and Economy that works for people” that took place on 10 December. EIPP is striving to promote more projects targeting the space sector and we expect to enlarge our project portfolio as a result of our collaboration with the European Global Navigation Satellite System Agency.
