EU and Singapore Digital Trade Agreement

On 25 July 2024, the EU and Singapore finalised their first Digital Trade Agreement (DTA) negotiations, aiming to streamline digital trade by fostering cross-border data flows and regulatory cooperation. There is a focus on eInvoicing; both the EU and Singapore are committed to supporting cross-border interoperability of eInvoicing standards.

This will reduce the need for paper forms in imports, exports, and goods transit, making trade more efficient. The political conclusion marks the end of negotiations for the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement. The EU and Singapore will now follow their respective procedures to work towards a formal signature and conclusion.
