eInvoicing Directive Revision: Why It Matters for the eDelivery Community

The European Commission's Reality Check on the revision of the eInvoicing Directive, held on 27 April 2026, brought together businesses, public authorities and technical experts to discuss the future of electronic invoicing in Europe. The revised Directive, which could introduce a mandate for a common transmission method for eInvoicing, potentially using the eDelivery Building Block, and harmonised requirements for existing national eInvoicing certification schemes, is expected to be adopted later in 2026.
