This session brings together regulatory and market perspectives on one of European Digital Identity Regulation’s newest trust services: the qualified electronic ledger. Maya Madrid, from CNECT, sets out the legal foundations, from the eIDAS Regulation to the new trust services introduced under European Digital Identity Regulation, then Steffen Schwalm, leader of the DEP-funded project TRACE4EU, shares how the market is responding and where he sees real-world use cases taking shape. Whether you're already familiar with the European Digital Identity Regulation or encountering it for the first time, this session offers a concise, practical entry point: the regulatory basics, the latest updates, and an early read on where the market sees qualified electronic ledgers heading next.

The format created space for participants to exchange ideas, discover shared challenges, and explore opportunities for collaboration in a fast-paced and engaging way.
