The Commission takes note of today’s judgment of the General Court dismissing GEA’s appeal against a 2019 Commission letter. In its letter, the Commission rejected GEA’s request for reimbursement of the fine it paid following a 2009 Commission decision imposing a fine of €3.3 million on GEA for participating in a cartel in the heat stabilisers sector. In today’s judgment, the General Court dismissed GEA’s action for annulment and clarified that GEA is liable for the payment of the fine.
