Shining the light on your team - #MyTeam video competition launched

The #MyTeam video competition (deadline 31 January) gives you the opportunity to use your creativity, sense of humour and to spend some fun time with your colleagues in the process. Participating teams will be judged by a randomly generated panel (including someone from each Department), and have the chance to win a prize!

 
2022 EMFAF Info Day - Watch the recording

On 24 November, CINEA organised the 2022 EMFAF Info Day for the calls for proposals on blue careers and regional flagship projects in EU sea basins. It took place in physically and online. Director Beckers opened the info day presenting the programme, while DG MARE Director-General Charlina Vitcheva presented the Commission priorities linked to the call.

Moldova joins the LIFE programme

Moldova is the third non-EU country to join the programme after Iceland and Ukraine. Moldova can now benefit from LIFE’ support for mobilising public and private resources for climate action, biodiversity protection, circular economy and the clean energy transition.

 
Commission’s online event on age equality mainstreaming on 9 December

This event will have a specific focus on the rights of older persons. Speakers will address the topic from the perspectives of the Commission, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the Age Platform Europe. All colleagues working on or having an interest in age equality are welcome.

 
CINEA at ENLIT 2022 (29 November - 1 December 2022)

CINEA colleagues were in Frankfurt last week and actively took part in the biggest annual conference and exhibition for energy professionals addressing Europe’s energy transition, ENLIT 2022. Forty-five innovative projects (the majority of which are managed by CINEA) presented their main results and achievements to representatives from industry, academia and the financial sector, at the dedicated EU Projects Zone.

Calls are open for the European Sustainable Energy Week 2023

Under the 'Accelerating the clean energy transition - towards lower bills and greater skills' theme, EUSEW 2023 will take place in Brussels and online on 20-22 June 2023. The calls for hosting a policy session and having a stand are now open. Check out the recording and presentation of the info session and get more information on how to apply, deadlines, etc.

 
New phone app to help users keep track and analyse their CO₂ savings in real time

The CAMPAIGNERS H2020 Climate project launched an app offering inspiring, daily individual challenges to contribute to reducing our carbon footprint and support climate neutrality. It connects Climate Campaigners living in 13 cities around the world. You can share your experience with others, get inspiration or invite friends to challenges.

 
‘Be CyberCerberus’ - learn more about ransomware attacks

As a part of this year’s Cybersecurity Training Programme, a podcast episode, was released by the Cyber monsters team, ‘The podcast about the monsters, not under your bed but in the net!’. In just 30 minutes, you will learn more about the trendiest way of hacking nowadays: ransomware attacks.

 
Six EAs sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the sharing of reserve lists

The Directors of the six EAs have concluded a MoU to establish a clear framework for sharing reserve lists, principally for CAST selections and open Calls for expression of interest for CAs. The new MoU consolidates the existing cooperation across the board, increasing the synergies and efficiencies through the pooling of resources and implementing new ways of working.

 
Spotlight on the European Union at Ecomondo 2022

The LIFE Programme featured prominently at the EU's flagship event for the circular economy - Ecomondo 2022 - in Italy. Seven LIFE projects were showcased at the EU stand while the Green Assist Initiative was launched.
