Today, EU Member States, with the support of the European Commission and ENISA, the EU Agency for Cybersecurity, published a second progress report on the implementation of the EU Toolbox on 5G cybersecurity. The report also addresses some of the recommendations of the European Court of Auditors' Special Report of January 2022. In complement to the progress report, the Commission today adopted a Communication on the implementation of the toolbox by Member States and in the EU's own corporate communications and funding activities.
The ECCC launched its Info Day series to disseminate critical information and raise awareness on European cybersecurity funding opportunities. The ECCC Info Day webinar was a successful prelude to a series of Info Days events in 2023.
The workshop will aim at anticipating the impact of cybersecurity EU legislative priorities (especially among SMEs) with the ECCC involvement in the implementation of specific policies (NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act, European Certification Schemes). Expected results include funding opportunities for cyber legislation implementation and adoption, with a special focus on SMEs (i.e.: serve as a basis for the draft of future I+D funding opportunities – DEP, HE and other programs) and identifying R&D priorities, gaps and opportunities and best practices to enhance cyber capacity building among SMEs (key inputs for the implementation of the ECCC Strategic Agenda).
The ENISA 5G Security controls matrix is a comprehensive and dynamic matrix of security controls and best practices for 5G networks, to support the national authorities in the EU Member States with implementing the technical measures of the EU’s 5G Cybersecurity Toolbox. The ENISA 5G Security Controls Matrix is currently published as a spreadsheet, but we are currently also developing a web tool to improve usability.
