ECF, The European Cyclists' Federation launches its flagship annual conference 2018 in Rio de Janeiro

Velo-city conference series’ next stop: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Coming to South American for the first time, Velo-city 2018 will focus on the main theme Access to Life, linked to the overall goal of cycling inclusion. Building on topics of previous Velo-city conferences such as Health, Infrastructure, Technology, Governance and Data, Velo-city 2018 Rio de Janeiro will explore the fusion of these discourses through cycling inclusion. On stage exceptional speakers from around the globe representing premier organisations, institutions and administrations in cycling and sustainable urban mobility.

Rio, being the host city of the World Cup in 2014 and of the Olympics in 2016, will now also be host of ECF’s annual global summit on cycling Velo-city, the largest international bicycle planning conference. “After taking Velo-city from Europe, to North America, Australia, and Asia, the ECF Board made an unanimous decision to have a South American edition of Velo-city: and Rio was the clear choice” according to ECF President Manfred Neun.
