What is the innovation

A comprehensive IT platform to support integrated care of elderly people with mild or medium level cognitive or movement impairments such as Parkinson or Alzheimer syndrome or other forms of dementia. The integrated platform incorporates sensory technologies to monitor and analyse patients' physical and digital activities, together with online, interactive forms of training for caregivers or a range of services for patients and caregivers to support autonomy, performing various daily tasks of everyday life. The platform is on prototype level with individual elements getting ready for commercialisation in next stage.

The project already incorporated pilots in 3 locations, with various real user groups, as the consortium had end user partners as well as research teams and commercial participants. In additions, having discussions with European stakeholders plus attending a specific event in the UK in early 2019 have already started a commercialisation process, however, after initial analysis it was also stated that prototype development into a ready-for-market product also requires additional resources, preferably partially external resources, as well as commercial partnerships across Europe.

Benefits of participation in the Framework Programme

Our participation in European cooperation (both research and commercial) has improved and got broader in this project. Had an opportunity to co-operate with university research teams to test and improve emerging technologies, getting into direct dialog with stakeholder representatives, gained a more in-depth understanding of the needs of the care sector and future European integrated care services.
