Novel designs and functionalizations of magnetic nanostructures (magnetic nanohybrids) are needed to meet the specific requirements of new information and refrigeration technologies. Innovative ideas encompass a vast pool of potential topics like:

a) Advanced spintronics using organic and inorganic magnetic building blocks down to the molecular level

b) Advanced spin "nano" processing for energy saving magneto-logic devices and microprocessors based on spin-dynamics.

c) New concepts for magnetic storage materials  using three dimensional self-assembled hierarchies.

d) New materials for magnetic refrigeration

c) New tools for characterizing magnetic nanosystems on the single nanodevice (-particle) level.
