DG CNECT together with the Women4Cyber initiative from the European Cybersecurity Organisation (ECSO) have committed last year to create a registry of European women in cybersecurity.
Women4Cyber Registry was created to identify and build the community of women professionals in the field of cybersecurity.
It gathers women, with different profiles and could be a reference point for expert groups, event organisers, media, as well as collaboration and potentially business opportunities. The aim of this Registry is to encourage women professionals to come forward, become more active in the field and raise their own visibility as well as promote the Women4Cyber initiatives.

The Woman4Cyber registry can now be found on the new Cybersecurity Atlas website: https://cybersecurity-atlas.ec.europa.eu/women-4-cyber

Biography
I went to university and completed a master’s degree in English and American literature and civilisation studies at the university of Michel de Montaigne, Bordeaux, France. I really would have opted for French literary studies, but I was really averse to studying Latin, that was compulsory… only to discover, to my dismay, that I would have to study Shakespeare instead.
With such a degree, there wasn’t too many jobs I could apply for. I didn’t want to be a teacher, so I had to find a job. I did find a lot of jobs, each of them as meaningless to me as the other. Secretary here, export assistant there, legal secretary, I did all of them. Those jobs were not difficult for me as I had also completed a Brevet de Technicien supérieur (BTS) as executive assistant and I was fluent in English, degree in hand and an experience of authentic British life in Cambridge, UK for about 4 years.
So, it wasn’t such a surprise I managed to be hired by ENISA as a human resources assistant back in 2005. I stayed in this role 13 years until a unique opportunity presented itself. When I moved to the policy unit, I was challenged to completely new tasks and this is when my life took a new turn, taking the path to cybersecurity. I engaged in corporate writing, contributed to articles on cybersecurity and projects.
Today I am part of the communications team and I enjoy working in a thriving environment around a topic in constant evolution and representing what I consider a rather extreme challenge for the end users this revolution is being imposed to.
This transformation of society cannot come without in-depth debates, discussions in every direction because it raises ethical, philosophical, psychological, educational questions that were never asked so far. And because this transformation affects the society as a whole, it changes its foundations. Questions we will have to answer today, in such a world, are: what will privacy mean and what will freedom mean. I am interested in this sort of debates, to possibly ensure the world will benefit from these technologies, and not end up as even worse dystopian worlds than those of Huxley’s or Orwell’s.
