In the first quarter of 2024, the total number of non-EU citizens ordered to leave the territory of an EU country was 103 515 (Table 1). This represents a decrease in comparison with the previous quarter (-2.0%) or with the same period of 2023 (-7.1%).
Among the EU countries, France reported the largest number of persons ordered to leave (34 190), followed by Germany (15 400) and Belgium (6 965). The regular net IIP of the euro area including reserve assets, recorded a positive value of €585.3 billion, which in relative terms corresponds to 4.1 % of GDP.
