The Natura 2000 Awards recognise conservation success stories across the EU and raise awareness about one of Europe’s outstanding achievements – the Natura 2000 network of protected areas.
Two out of the six projects awarded this year highlight the support that the Common Agricultural Policy can bring to help conserve biodiversity in Europe. One of these projects is addressing the partnership for protection of Bulgarian old-growth forests in Natura 2000 and the second winning project promotes a special certification brand, Pro-Biodiversidad (Pro-Biodiversity) to support shepherds as biodiversity conservators in Natura 2000.
