The ALPGRIDS project, supported by Interreg Alpine Space programme, is developing microgrids, which enable villages in the Alpine region to produce energy locally.
This allows Alpine areas in five Member States to be better protected from possible blackouts and also reduces volatility in the energy bills for citizens.
