The United Nations' International Day of Rural Women celebrates and honours the role of rural women on 15 October each year. This Day recognises rural women's importance in enhancing agricultural and rural development worldwide.
The ENRD website hosts a range of information related to the role of women in EU rural development. Our publications, thematic work and news include analysis of how EU support can be used to help encourage gender equality throughout rural Europe. A new example of the EU’s commitment to tackling equality challenges through funding new opportunities is the opening of calls under Horizon 2020 for research in boosting women- led innovation in farming and rural areas which are open from 27 October 2021 to 15 February 2022.
