Following the Workshop on Rural Jobs held in November 2019, this second ENRD Workshop on Vibrant Rural Areas looked at supporting the access to services for the rural population.
Commissioner Wojciechowski gave the opening remarks and announced the winners in the ENRD 2020 Rural Inspiration Awards (RIA).The competition had four categories, three corresponding to the thematic group content and one for the popular vote.
The meeting addressed digital methods of exchange and dissemination, efficient online communication, and ways of targeting specific stakeholders.
This Thematic Lab explored the role of LEADER and LEADER Local Action Groups in maintaining and widening stakeholder engagement in their local areas, to develop short and long-term responses to local challenges now and for the future.
After two Thematic Group (TG) ‘labs’ focusing on ideas for the support framework for Smart Villages in the future CAP Strategic Plans in Finland and Poland, the TG organised the last lab to provide space for other Member States to share ideas and pose questions about how they are proposing to support Smart Villages in their own countries
The meeting provided an update on the state of play of the CAP Reform and other relevant EU policy initiatives.
