Le 30 juin 2021, la Commission européenne a présenté la vision pour les zones rurales en 2040, basée sur un diagnostic approfondi des défis et des préoccupations auxquels elles sont confrontées, tout en soulignant certaines des opportunités les plus prometteuses actuellement. Au cœur de cette vision se trouve l’ambition de revitaliser les zones rurales d’Europe et d’atténuer l’impact des tendances négatives, afin que, d’ici 2040, elles soient plus fortes, plus connectées, plus résilientes et plus prospères. Elle propose un certain nombre d’actions, de programmes phares et d’outils destinés à stimuler la revitalisation des zones rurales, notamment la création d’une plateforme de revitalisation rurale qui devrait être un guichet unique permettant aux communautés rurales, aux porteurs de projets et aux autorités de collaborer.
Il s’agissait de la première réunion du Groupe Thématique (GT) du REDR sur la Revitalisation Rurale, qui est lancé avec l’ambition de se concentrer plus en détail sur ce thème spécifique, et à son tour de soutenir le déploiement de la vision dans les États Membres (EM), y compris aux niveaux régional et local. La réunion a fourni un espace d’échange sur les facteurs clés qui soutiennent la revitalisation rurale, avec une attention particulière portée aux zones rurales touchées par la perte de population, le vieillissement et le manque d’opportunités économiques.
Objectifs de la réunion
- Faire le point sur les facteurs clés de la revitalisation rurale en se basant sur les analyses et rapports existants produits par les institutions compétentes, les projets et l’expérience pratique des membres du GT ;
- Tirer des enseignements des approches stratégiques mises en œuvre par les pays et les régions pour revitaliser les zones rurales ;
- Obtenir une compréhension commune des facteurs clés de la revitalisation rurale et de la manière de promouvoir la conception et l’utilisation d’outils politiques pour la promouvoir ; et
- Échanger sur l’orientation future possible du Groupe thématique et sur la manière dont il peut contribuer au mieux au déploiement de la Vision à long terme pour les zones rurales, y compris l’élaboration de la future plateforme de revitalisation rurale.
