Journalists Against Discrimination

The national level winners of the “For Diversity. Against Discrimination” journalism award have been nominated.

The prizes have been awarded to print and online journalists in the EU, who contributed to a better public understanding of the benefits of diversity and the fight against discrimination.

2010 being the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, a special award was foreseen for articles about discrimination on the grounds of racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, age, disability and sexual orientation can lead to poverty. Journalists were also invited to submit entries in this category which explored how poverty can lead to discrimination.

On 29 April, the European level winners of the “For Diversity. Against Discrimination” journalist award will be announced.

The For Diversity. Against Discrimination” campaign works in all 27 EU Member States to raise awareness of discrimination, and the legislation which exists to combat it, as well as to promote the benefits of diversity.
