The European Economic and Social Committee puts the 2010 European Year on its agenda

The year 2010 is the time for EU leaders and national governments to move from rhetoric to action. And to do so, the EU must speed up its action on the basis of a few principles and assets: reinforcing the European social model; improving the effectiveness of the open method of coordination; promoting fundamental rights at work and the principle of ‘decent work’; and incorporating the issue of poor workers into the framework of European-level social dialogue.
