Scottish Federation of Housing Associations - Tackling Poverty in Our Communities

Lähettäjä 30/09 Vastaanottaja 30/09

Housing associations and cooperatives play a key role in supporting community regeneration and tackling poverty but the problem persists, and indeed is looking like it is getting worse, so what more can we do to combat poverty in our communities. What policy and strategy interventions do we need to be making at national and local level? What role is there for a National Minimum Income Standard?

This one day conference aims to examine how housing association and housing cooperative staff and management boards can make stronger links with their local authority and third sector partners to work towards the common goal of eliminating poverty and social exclusion in Scotland.

Delegates will hear from leading figures within Scottish Government and local authorities about the role housing associations can play in reducing poverty and the day will offer key networking opportunity for strategic planners, service providers, community regeneration agencies and other stakeholders.
